Changing the language in Looker Studio / Data Studio
All the guides and tutorials you’ve read so far agree on one thing, and that’s correct: you can’t control the language as a parameter in data studio; the platform UI is based on your Google account’s language. Thus, in order to change the language of the UI and of your data, you need indeed to hover to the top right of your screen, select the avatar of your account, and go to “manage account”.
Why changing the language alone doesn’t reflect on your reports?
If you’ve changed the language and still your reports look the same, even after re-importing the data, that’s because you have failed to do one thing: logging out of your Google Account to force a hard refresh. You see, Google stores your preference in a way that until you log out, services might still be hooked to your previous choices.
So, simply log-out of all accounts, and re-log in again.
Last step to effectively change the language of reports in Google Data Studio
Now, you will notice that the Data Studio UI reflects the changes. And yet, your data still speaks the previous language; that’s because you need to re-import it. Actually, you could also just refresh fields in most cases, but that depends on your connector.
